(ETX Daily Up) – Strange but true. Die-hard “Stranger Things” fans could very well become owners of one of the series’ most iconic homes. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to purchase the actual house used for the Netflix show, located in Atlanta. Get your checkbook ready!
While “Stranger things” is about to end with its fifth and final season scheduled for 2025, fans of the series could very well continue the adventure by investing in the property of Joyce, Jonathan and Will Byers. The house used as a place of residence is currently under construction for sale on the crowdfunding platform Arrived. A house available for the modest sum of 1.175 million dollars.
To date, more than $950,000, or 23% of the amount, has been raised thanks to 2,847 investors.
The crowdfunding campaign allows investors to contribute up to $100 to acquire shares of the property. “The exterior of the property was used to shoot all the scenes in the Byers’ home and influenced the design of the interior sets,” the announcement on Airbnb.
The house, located in Fayetteville, Georgia, is a true ’80s time capsule and features all the furnishings from the series, right down to the legendary wreath. With a surface area of over 170 m2, it includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms, all on a plot of over two hectares. Investors will also benefit from the income generated by renting out the home on Airbnb, available for up to six people, at a price of €324 per night on weekdays up to €693 per night on weekends.
According to Airbnb’s new announcement, the home is “not affiliated with Netflix” but promises to “honor the spirit of the series.” The mansion, built in 1900, has been meticulously decorated by fans and professionals to recreate the authentic atmosphere of the series. Guests will be able to enjoy an immersive experience, with both ancient and modern technologies, the announcement states.
“Stranger Things”created by brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, starring Winona Ryder and Millie Bobby Brown, it has enjoyed phenomenal success since its first release on Netflix on July 15, 2016.
Currently, fans can immerse themselves in the Upside Down with the original play “Stranger Things: The First Shadow,” playing at London’s Phoenix Theater until 2025. This production, set in 1959, follows the Creel family as they arrive in the town of Hawkins , Indiana, before the events of the little gang.
