In terms of flight delays from France, the national airline Algeria Air registers fewer and fewer reports. Recent data provided by the French authorities confirm a proportional decline in reports received by the Algerian airline over the past three years.
France, being the country that hosts the largest number of members of the Algerian community abroad, is the main international market for Air Algérie.
– According to data published by the French government on indicators for monitoring the quality of service of airlines operating in France, there has been an improvement in the performance of the Algerian company.
Here is the number of delays for Air Algérie flights in 2022, 2023 and 2024 in France
The data updated to 16 September are based on the indicator of the evolution of flight delay rates departing from nine French airports, namely Paris-CDG, Paris-Orly, Nice, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Nantes, Bordeaux and Beauvais.
– The statistics are also based on the evolution of reports on air passenger rights brought to the attention of the French Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC).
– The data published on each airline operating from the nine airports mentioned above is collected over three years, 2022, 2023 and the first two quarters of the current year 2024.
« This indicator takes into account the number of reports from air transport users received by airlines, during a calendar year, by the DGAC, and the number of flights operated by these companies to and from French territory. “, the report reads.
– In 2022, the Algerian airline Air Algérie operated a total of 12,618 flights to and from the airports surveyed. Of this total, 308 reports were made by passengers to the DGCA, or a rate of 2.44 per 100 flights.
In 2023 and 2024, Air Algérie will do better than Royal Air Maroc and Tunisair
For comparison, the Royal Air Morocco received, during the same year, 154 reports out of a total of 13,031 thefts, or 1.18 reports per 100 thefts. Tunisair received 97 reports out of a total of 8,294 flights performed (1.17 per 100 flights).
– The following year, Air Algérie operated a total of 25,709 flights in France and received 156 reports, or 0.61 per 100 flights, thus recording a proportional but significant decrease in delays.
In terms of reporting rate, it even performed better than the two North African airlines. RAM was the subject of 132 reports out of a total of 14,101 flights operated (0.94 per 100 flights) and Tunisair 158 reports out of a total of 9,319 (1.7 per 100 flights).
– During the first two semesters of 2024, Air Algérie did even better. Out of a total of 12,512 thefts committed in France, only 46 reports were received, or a rate of 0.37 reports per 100 thefts.
Like the other two North African airlines, Royal Air Maroc operated 6,488 flights during this period and received 43 reports (0.66 per 100 flights). Tunisair was the subject of 69 flights out of a total of 4,654 operated in France, or 1.48 reports per 100 flights.
